I have sucessfully ruined a well done grille by sanding it and causingthe surface to be unsmooth and there are gaps in the grille where the emblem and plastic pieces used to stick out form and now i need some sort of material which can fill in these holes and smooth very easily.. What should i do? I am willing to try whats possible to repair my grille into something worthwhile so some input guys.. rubber cement? =P

I used body filler, I think you can use fibreglass molding???? Here's a pic, I copied Tony's grill...he's the creator of this....

This is actually an old pic, I redid it about 2 months ago, it look better now...I think.

oooh, I'm not being condescending or anything like that but if you don't know what body filler is, don't even attempt this. I never worked with it before and if you don't get the mixtures right, it's a pain in the ass. Then there's hours of sanding and smoothing the edges down until it looks perfect...then you have to paint it!!! If you have lotsa time, go for it. The first time I did it, it took me about 8 hours to cut the fins to painting it. Apparently I didn't do that great of a job because it started flaking off.... the second time I did it, it only took me an afternoon.

I think fibreglass is a lot easier to work with but more expensive. A can of body filler for this job is about $10 at Can Tire. You'll have to buy spot putty as well to fix the small little holes or air bubbles that occur. Hey, if you want, you can BUY mine!!!

Good luck!

That would be Shawn Hill he has a 95-96 I think yea and he has an accord grile grrr...but I don't think u could fit it on ur 92 beacause the 95-96 headlights on slanted lyke the accord, the only way I can think to put the accord grille is to do a headlight conversion to the 95-96 camry.

but the headlights are just a little different, i wouldn't mind the small gap but how is it possible to do this? Does the grille match up to the screws n stuff at the exact areas? I was thinking about doing this to get a different look. Where can i find a accord grille w/o going to the dealer? Thx

There are 2 pieces that you need to order from the 94 Accord, and you can get them from any aftermarket parts dealer. First you need the front grill and second you need the front grill molding which goes behind it. The molding is what attaches to your car and the grill goes on the molding. Modification of the accord grill is necessary though so you'll probably need a dremel tool to shave the 2 "flaps" at the top ends of the grill and some shaving off the back of the grill is apparently necessary to make it looks flush.

From the parts dealer i went to, he said for an aftermarket molding, it would come to $20 CAN and $17 CAN for the grill. Plus, for the headlights (95-96) it would be $136 each for aftermarket ones. So for myself, an accord grill and headlight conversion would run me about $300 CAN plus id have to paint the grill.

latez.

I think my picture is kinda deceiving...the grill is nowhere near perfect. There are still little pits where I did the bondo and the right side doesn't even match the left side! Of course, you'd have to be studying the grill to notice these things....

Bodyshops will do these things as well, if you show them a pic of mine, I'm sure they can do the same for you. I would hate to send the grill to Cali and then you'd be like, "What's this piece of crap???" I think you'd have to see it in person. And also the only problem would be that I'd need a grill to replace mine! That all and said, just email me and we can discuss this further if you want to!

You can find aftermarket 95-96 headlights for about $60USD each from ebay.

i just want to know if with existing 92-94 headlights on a camry is it possible to fit the accord grille on? Will the exhisting mounting areas for the camry grille fit the accord? and is it the same dimensions as the camry grille? Would anyone suggest me going out to buy a grille and mount from an honda dealer? thanks alot for all your input.

Thats not much of a differece, it may even come out more expensive. $60 US is about $90 CAN plus shipping is at least $100-110, plus GST/PST and customs is roughly the same price if not more.
