4th Generation The Power That Is: Camry (Layin down rubber!)

Was looking through my digital pictures from years past and happened upon something I thought everyone could enjoy!

This is for anyone who says that Camry's have no power, even stock.

AND for my friends here in the TN Camry forum. I figured you would all enjoy this.

I did a burn out this past summer. Had Continental ContiContact's on my camry at the time. This is BEFORE any engine mods. So completely stock. I measured the strip I left. It was about 75-100 feet long (turning slighty left, up a slight incline). No joke. I had to leave in a hurry, cause people called the cops on us from all the noise and smoke. We were having a little contest. To say the least, I won and I drove home on WIRES. literally. I had to go the next day to get new tires. I DID have time to pick up what I left on the road... I had a buddy take this in the passenger seat after we left the spot, while still makin a break from the 5-0 check it:

Don't get me wrong, people have done nastier burnouts. But oh man, I wish i had a video of this one. I only regret not getting pics of the strip the next day. never thought to go back and get any pics. I plan on doing another in the same place this summer, as soon as it gets closer to doing tires again. Got too much rubber left to ruin the set i have now.

Anyone else got some pics of their camry layin down some rubber?
That's all. just thought peeps would get a kick out of it

What's that have to do with this thread? My index time one time was faster than a Z06, my PAX time was also... Go figure...

Anyways, it's not hard to spin the tires when turning. That's the nature of understeer. So I don't find it amazingly impressive. Hell, I did a 10 foot straight strip (no turning the wheel) in my stock V6 with brand new tires.

Anyways, if your tires tore down that bad from that, I know I'll never be buying continental tires EVER!

Well, its not like i did a 90 degree turn to the left. it was from a stop sign at a 4 way intersection. the road running horizontal to me was the incline im talking about. and the "slight" left was just that. about 20 or 30 feet into it I turned the wheel slightly, like MAYBE 10 degrees. *sigh* w/e doesn't even matter. just thought it'd be a fun post.

Oh, and the continentals are good tires. had just already ridden on them for like 20,000 miles. and it was a hot summer day. don't base ur judgement on them on my stupid burn out

hahahah!

Nah, I haven't ever liked the brand. I have my preference in tires. That just seems like it laid too much rubber for any tire. Most tires won't put down that much even burning out after miles. Seems like yours almost fell apart.

Anyways, I roll on Goodyears
