As far as I know and read, it doesn't remove rust.

Its a coating that protects metal to stop it from rusting further.

You don't have to use a spray gun. Brush it on if you want.

Thats an idea.

I would clean off the rust (wire brush or sand it off), use rust bullet or por-15, then the rhino liner (optional).

I recetnlly sent omeone to a rhino liner shop to have the bottom of their car rhino lined in chicago (friend of mine). it was a 2004 Lexus LS430. She had her husband remove the exhaust then they taped off the remaining areas and sprayed the underside of the car, taking care not to get it in places like struts. the electrical connections were taped as well. they did a really smash up job at a price of $600 for Rhino Liner only. the prep (not including exhaust removal) ran her $400. the underbody is now rustproof. the exhaust and ohter mechaincal parts arent, but they floorpan will NEVER rust out of that car.

i dont know exactly what all is entailed, but she said they did a really good job. She also said that if she wanted, they would color match the fender flares and rocker panels with it and get it as close as they could, her car is a dark blue metallic, but you cant put metallic flake in rhino liner, so if she wants it perfect, she will have to paint over it.
