removing spoiler

I have a 2001 Camry. I bought it used, and it came with the factory spoiler. For as long as i've had it i've hated the look with the spoiler on it. recently my friend convinced me to have a go at taking it off. I can't however seem to manage getting it off. I've removed the trunk lining and the two bolts and found and disconnected the wire to the brake light on the spoiler.

It still seems just as firmly in place as it was when i started. I looked closer and it seems like there is something holding on the bolt (loc-tite?) I am wondering if i've missed something obvious or if the stock spoilers are epoxyed on. Any information on the subject would be greatly appreciated. I've found a lot of information about putting spoilers on, but none about taking off the factory ones.

Sorry if this has been asked before. I searched and couldn't find anything.

I am not sure how you take it off. I usually end up not buying many used cars b/c of the spoiler, so I know the feeling. Now even if you took it off what are you going to do with the holes in the trunk? How about finding a trunk same color as yours and just swapping. You will have to change the locks too.

Well i think if i can get the thing off i'll see about getting some little plugs with flat heads on them and paint them. My friend was telling me about some cheap sealant that should do the trick, but come off easy and not mess anything up. I don't imagine that'd be noticable at all unless you were right on top of it. And of course if it looked any worse i could just put the spoiler back on.

I'm not an expert at all in these matters.. that's why i'm talking to you guys.

Also i don't know the rule about the third brake light on top as far as the law is concerned. I don't believe it is required, but if it is it looks pretty easy to mount one inside. I popped off the little lid back there and it seemed like if i were able to find the right brake light it'd be a simple matter to pop in there.

Really it's not so much a matter of the spoiler anymore.. it's the fact that i set out to remove the darn thing and am not the kind of person that can quit now. (and the fact that i saw a camry same year and color as mine without it that looked significantly nicer)
