Would anyone be interested in buying my muffler used? It's a Magnaflow #14832. It's double wall, straight cut, 2.25" inlet, 4" diam. tip. 4" tip length, 5x8 oval body, 14" muffler body length. Price new is $146. It's been used maybe 3-4 months.
I'm thinking of changing my muffler out for a different style along with getting all new piping from the cat back.
Just checking... didn't think this belonged in the for sale forum because it isn't for sale.. just guaging intrest.
well, ok, but what do the other companies do to their exhausts?
b/c the flowmaster is the only company i would buy a non DTM exhaust from b/c all the other ones are not major brands

Flowmaster is really one of the only true "performance" mufflers. Cause it actually draws exhaust into it, instead of a regular glass pack or other mufflers that just have it flow through.
and once the baffles heat up they fan out, sound/performance improve even more.
If you split a flowmaster in half, it isnt really "chambered", it's "louvered". the "fins" inside look kinda like this:

When browsing for mufflers at my shop (in the catalog and what they had on hand) they had several that they had cut in half to show how they all differ. The one I looked at was a 30 series, so there were more louvers and closer together. I have a 50 series. Less louvers, wider apart.
not like im saying adding a flowmaster is gonna make ur camry a 12 second sleeper, but they are great mufflers.

How much power is it going to gain? Just wondering... Too bad I have no money right now...
It'll be almost negligable if you just strap a flowmaster onto a stock exhaust. POSSIBLY 1HP at the wheels. Full cat back will probably give you a few more HP. Depends.

Not all, the hushpower is not chambered. It has a screen funnel inside of it, but it's not quite chambered.
Further more, the actual chambered mufflers flowmaster makes are designed to get optimum flow. What most don't realize is that velocity's a big player in flow. Chambers are intended to help that.
The hushpower is smaller than the 50 series and gets a deep sound, not ricey. I don't quite understand where you're going with this comment?
I'd like to hear you qualify this statement.
Hushpower is 24 inches long. The 50 series is about 22 1/2-23 inches long. that extra inch makes a difference because of the strange way the pipe bends up to the muffler on Gen 4's, especially if u are trying to keep the muffler back far (make room for a tip?). look at my pics on my site of the 50 series. you can see the bend im talking about. 60 series too loud. 40 series too soft (but much shorter if i remember correctly at like 20 inches long). and i wasnt implying the hushpower sounded ricey, I've heard the hushpower and it sounds a lot like my 50 series. that was just poor punctuation and grammer on my part. should have read "The hushpower is longer than the 50 series. THE 50 SERIES doesn't sound ricey either, deep sound" just typing faster than my brain can think cause a lot of people get all the series confuzzled
and those measurements are straight from flowmaster. i talked on the phone with them and several other companies before doing my cat back and choosing my exhaust.
