anyone ever heard of these guys? or done business with them? it sounds like they have some good custom parts for 5fse or 1mzfe and for most gens as well
That's old news. Their kits are what they are, just an engine kit.
You can get stuff custom made through them as well.
Just remember though, they're just a store and commercial machine shop. So don't expect the opinions/advice of a regular machinest who actually invests tons of time into your engine and planning it out.
Another thing is, their 'head porting' comes in stages. That's a .
If you're porting the head, port it right, don't tell someone you can do it in certain methods to pickup a certain amount of hp. There's only really 2 different ways to port a head. I don't know how they came out with so many damned stages. Unless they're only porting certain things in certain stages? Seems quite fucked to me though.
They aren't worth it unless you plan to equip your engine with a turbo. Basically, you are replacing old worn out parts with new tougher-than-stock parts.

Apparently you're unaware of naturally aspirated.
These 5S kits offer high CR (up to 11-1).
The kits aren't bad but porting isn't a stage thing. Either you port it right or you don't port it. There's no hp per port ratio. You can increase VE and velocity. Neither will garuntee X hp.
Out of personal experience with the company be extremely careful, they have some of the worst customer service ive ever dealt with. I placed my order in december of 04 im still fighting them on things about one single order whcih they managed to screw up 3x and send it to the wrong address once. Even the manager, yes manager, argued with me for almost an hour saying they didnt screw it up "according to their records" even though i had the parts right in front of me.....morons; this only scratches the surface of the hell they put me through and trouble they caused me. I for one will never deal with the company again

You aren't going to get very far trying to Naturally Aspirate a 3sfe.
if you can get a 3SFE up into the 10-11:1 compression range, id bet it be pretty peppy. combine that with a good porting and some good headers, you'd have an awesome NA set up. turbo's can be a pain in the ass, and NA setups would probably be easier and more reliable.
OR you can get the 8.5:1 comp pistons and turbo the fuck out of it!
mmm....turrrboo! ideas are spinning through my head...im seriously considering it now.

what is the stock compression ratio for a 3sfe? im thinking of actually buying the kit...but den again is there any other things i need that are not included in the kit?i still have less that 20k miles...going n/a is probrablly the best choice for me considering the fact my car is basically still brand new...if my mom finds out i that i blew the engine with a turbo setup...shell kill me
