Canada CD stuck in JBL player!!!

Hi,

Today I was waiting to pick up a friend and I waited in the car with the engine stopped but the heater and stereo running. After about an hour - sigh - my friend finally came and I tried to restart the car - nothing...the battery had ran out of power. Fortunately I had jumper cables handy and got the car running again by borrowing the battery from someone else's car. Unfortunately, the stereo won't play any CDs. I do have a CD in there, but the stereo thinks that there are none. What do I do?

is the alarm asking for a security code?
i would try ejecting the disc, if possible and then dissconectiing the battery
or undoing the fuse, if the cd is stuck then it is another matter

No there's not alarm asking for a code of any sort. I tried ejecting - but not effect.

disconnect the battery or get someone to disconnect the battery while you're in the car, then get them to reconnect it and turn the player on.. keep pressing the button until the cd comes out, chances are the CD player didn't reset properly after you boosted the car.

I'll definately try that...AFTER I get my car back from the dealership (LOL)...

Seriously though, thanks for the tip - I'll remember that the NEXT TIME my CD won't eject after a jump-start.

I've also realized what I did wrong - instead of connecting the positive to positive and negative of good battery to bad battery last, I connected both the negative and positive to my battery first and then connect them to the good one. Also, I notcied that the guy with the good battery accidently touched the positive and negative ends together while the other ends were connected to mine - which is probably why I notcied a spark...think that seriously damaged my car's systems?
