well i havent been at this forum too long and this topic must have been do by now,but i wasnt around.
well i own i gen 3, i bought it because i like the gen 3 body style much more than the gen 4 and the gen 5 is a little out of the reach of my wallet. if it werent for the gen 3 i would probably have a civic. so for me its the gen 3, i like the gen 5 but it is much too bulky.
Personally, I love the Gen 2. the newer ones just look like any other newer car - very round (almost just looking fat).
I'd almost own a gen 1 before gen 3 or later. Of course I never want to own a car that is newer than about '91 or '93 (whenever airbags were made mandatory in US sold cars - practically my whole family is too short to have the airbag help rather than hurt).
Of course, I really want a '64-'67 VW Type-3, so I'm already prone to more old-school.
But then again, whatever floats your boat, it's only my opinion.

I love the ALL! That's why I have Gen2-4 on my driveway
Seriosly, overall, I like the Gen3. The way the ctr console is angled towards the driver is perfect! The car was built without cutting ant corners. It's a solid car inside and out.
The G2s are extremely reliable cars that came avail in AWD 8)
Early Gen4 are at the bottom of my list. Toyota cut too many corner with this car to reduce the price (ie. cheap lights, interior, alot of plastic) They improve the G4 in '00-'01 but that was too late. The only thing the G4 has going for it is S/C availabilty.
I LOVE the G5s but I think they are alittle over priced. The personally like the styling. It's very fresh, yet not too funky. Only grip is the fact that it looks out of propartion. The wheels look stupid small on the car. Also lack of V6 stick is a turn off.
But the cream of the crop and my dream Camry would be a Ragtop V6 MT Solara SC'd with TRD pkg :o
The Gen 3's and Gen 5's look great, but since I drive a Gen4...umm...My fav. would be a Gen4 specifically the 2000-01 models. I wasn't diggin' the 97-99 front fascia appearance.
