Another Tire Size Question

Still confused on the tire size and all. My tires at the moment with my stealies are 195/70/14

I bought some new rims, 17x7. So would 215/40/17 fit fine or is 40 too small? go to 45? Im trying to price out tires online before I buy them at the store.

215-45-17 would be closer to the original diameter.
You can also go with a 225-45-17 which will be wider and have more sidewall for protection. Your speedometer will be .9 too slow, but you'll register less miles on the odo Not by much though.

But definitely don't get 215-40-17 that's too small. What offset did you get?

40 sounds good to me :] but thas only cuz i always like real low profile looking tires cuz it makes your rims look bigger. but Ride wise.. 45 would be good, less bumpier ride. but look. 40 ;]

45 will be a fairly low-profile, closer to your original diameter, and will give you a nicer ride as well.

cam2Xrunner & nort0188 are right. 45 series will be much closer to the original 70 series in hieght.otherwise your speedo will be quite a bit off. 45 is still pretty low.it'll look good.

I concur.. 215-45-17 is the perfect choice. (I used to work at a tire/wheel shop)

you want 225/45/17, or 215/50/17.....it helps get rid of that fender gap that our cars ALWAYS have....unless you have coilovers
