I just bought a 2000 XLE last night.
I have no idea what this button does?

It turns Traction Control off. When you press it, a dash light should come on that says "trac off".

traction is something like ABS, except for the opposite as it has to do with acceleration. do a search on "Toyota traction control" or automotive traction control on google.
