Canada Need some suggestions

Hi guys,

I'm currently looking to have the following tasks performed on the '02 camry:

1. Black-tinting on all windows (except for front driver/passenger windows and front windshield, if not legal).

2. Change of forward lights from stock to...suggestions?

3. Change of tires.

First, for changing the lights, I'm looking for maximum clearness without blinding on-coming cars. Second, for the tires, please make some suggestions for the best possible (safest) all-season tires available right now.

Lastly, I live in Langley, BC, but I don't know any reputable autobody shops that can perform these tasks...anyone living in the same general area got any suggestions (Langley, Surrey, Delta, Burnaby, or Richmond areas preferred)? Thanks in advance!

1. go with 20-15% on all windows, and find a shop that guarntee's their work..ask around some audio shops or other people who have had it done to find a place
2. Cheapest way is to buy a set of silverstars at canadian tire - they are quite popular
3. not a tire pro, i have michelin x-radial's on mine and they seem to do the job - maybe the harmony's?

Has anyone who owns a 2002 Camry XLE (w/ fog lamps) ever tried out the Silverstars? How do they compare with the stock llighting?

Well... I have a 2002 LE and I have SilverStars in my headlights, and they kick ass! They're nice and white... and they don't blind people. I'm in the process of wiring my fog lights too, and have put SilverStars in them as well because I like them so much on my headlights.

Glaring blue HID bulbs are NOT classy, and don't make your car look nice, no matter what that kid in the Civic told you.

Umm...I'm no expert when it comes to car lights, but shouldn't the light bulbs used by the regular lights be different than those in the fog lamp? Anyway, I checked out Canadian Tire's website and did a search for Silverstars, but all that came up were these light fixtures for trucks/suvs - shouldn't they come in bulb form?

Well... for the Gen 5 Camry's, the bulbs for the fog lights and the low beams are the same 9006 bulb... the high beams are 9005. Those bulbs that you're looking at are right, but you would need 9006ST instead of 9004 for your fogs. The XtraVision bulbs aren't as good as the SilverStars.

Well I have a Gen 2 Camry, so I'm not really sure whether I need 9006 for me low beams/fog lights or the 9004. As for the high beams I'm not sure either...

Oops...didn't know that...don't mind me - I'm automotive-illterate

Ok...so this would be what I need?

http://www.canadiantire.ca/assortmen...=1114065785914

In this case, I would need four 2005ST and two 2006ST for the two high beams?

lol its all good. Yeah, so for the 2002:

Low Beams = 9006
High Beams = 9005
Fog Lights = 9006

You can also double check this at Sylvania's Auto Lamp Replacement guide here:
http://www.sylvania.com/ConsumerProd...placementGuide

Just put in your car and year and stuff, and it'll give you all of the different light bulbs that your car requires.

No problem

Also, about the tints: I have 15% in the back of my car, and 50% on the front driver/passenger side. Even though there's a big difference in the darkness of the two tints, the 50% in the front actually looks darker because less light passes through in the back. In any case, in California, 50% is legal in the front from what I've been told. I'm not sure about BC.

About the tires, I can't help you there. I'm not that big on tires... but you can check www.tirerack.com and look at different tires and check out reviews and stuff.
