well, if you have a gen 3 i4....then there is no hope as far as I know, gen 3 v6.....about 142+ before the limiter hits.....of course this is on a 5 speed
and there should be NO REASON for you wanting to go faster than 120mph.

well yukio...those speeds were done at a local airport.....lots of running room....I had to pull some psycho strings to get that btw. and as far as handling at those speeds....well....it's not easy, of course these were done before I did the kit and the hood...those days are over now
First off... A near stock gen3 v6 isn't going to do 140+mph.
1) The fastest 1mz-fe I've heard of N/A (with an auto) was a '96 ES 300. All 1mz fuel cuts are between 130-135mph AFAIK
2) 3vz-fe's have no such speed limit, but struggle to get an ES 300 to 140 under perfect conditions. Let alone get a Camry past 133.
myCAMbeatsurCIV, if a v6 (3vz-fe) in good shape with 185hp is only going to pull the car to 130-133, exactly how much faster do you think your car will go with an i4 that is only making 120-140hp? I hope you've botled a turbo on there!
Two ways to defeat the stock system.
1) You piggyback the road speed sensor, and right under the speed cut, you lock the signal. (the piggyback is replicating whatever the highest signal you set as)
2) The piggyback scales the speed sensor down (normally by a percentage)
Both ways have their good and bad points.
Basically, we're trying ot tell you there is no reason to raise the cut-off. You simply don't have much more faster you can go!

for anything, anytime; including camry turbos Now with Turbo!
ther is no reason for you to up the speed gov. unless you can do over 120 in the 1/4.
i have had the rev limiter up on mine i now red line and shift at 7000. but i have done mods to handle that. if you are stock dont change it. and if you dont race on a track. there is no way you need to go that fast. i havent even tryed to move the speed limiter. i cant even get it that fast in time befor the race is over. i can only do a 94MPH in the 1/4. and that is N/A
hey now hey now this man just likes a lil Speed is all.... lemme lone lol try increase your Aerodynamiks.. it should give ya a lil higher top speed.. not so much wind Resistance...
just be careful at those speeds my friend no sharp turns.. course your a FW.. so still be careful ^^ more power to ya

^ if he is driving at thous speed on the roads i hope he get busted for it. i drive my kids around on roads like that. the only reason you should reace speeds that high is on track.
i have done some mods: intake chip, intake, electic supercharger( better shifting and boosts up the speed) exhaust, and ive messed around with it, so it has close to 200+ HP, and i do race it, (usually from exit to exit and it wont do any fast than 115) so i was just wondering how to take it off. Its a 5 speed by the way and i love killing civics!! it was made in japan so it has the awesome suspension. far right to far left nicely, if you know waht i mean, but thanks for the comments and remeber, SPEED KILLS, DRIVE SLOW!!
Sorry to dissapoint you, but the mods you listed did absolutely 5H!T. Apologize for the harshness.. but you really need to reconsider some of the stuff you're planning for your car.
If the "intake chip" was one of those $20 ebay resistors, that worked on your car for about 1-2 seconds, before the ECU detected the change and compensated. Your "electric supercharger" or any other turbonator equivalent doesn't work, if you want to argue, show me dyno charts of significant improvements. Better shifting can be accomplished by tightening your throttle kick down cable. Exhaust is useless. The stock exhaust can handle 300hp.
Ditto.. and my 97 1MZ has gotten up to 120MPH.. but a turn was coming up.. that was in my gas burning days.. I've learned to slow it down... to about 100, ask joel

its not like im trying to make my car freeking fast, if i wanted it fast i would get new headers, cams, turbo and some NOS, i just put in a about 250 to make actually fast, not super fast but fast. im just trying to work with what i have. **sanego, what do you have done to your car? **
I did almost nothing to make my car "faster". Performance upgrades are a bosal catback system. I wouldn't even have it if my stock one didn't corrode with all the salt and snow. I put in tokico struts after my stock ones broke. I recently put in a custom SRI because my old intake pipe was splitting. It was cheaper for me to make one than buy a replacement from toyota.
To make my car more responsive I tightened all my throttle cables. Sprayed cans and cans of carb cleaner into the TB and toothbrushed all the grim out. Did an ACIS mod for better power curve and smoother acceleration. Spark plugs are NGK iridium, and brakes/rotors are new.
Other mods are not worth mentioning. I think I made my point.
I plan to do some porting, more cleaning, and replace all my cylinder gaskets. The car can go as fast as I want it to, gets me from point A to point B comfortably, and isn't choked by an electric s/c.
