Well the other day i took my camry rallying by this i mean i went off road at a pretty good speed and then hit some potholes in the dirt very hard. Of course this was unintentional because i would never hurt my baby but afterwards i started hearing the engine grumbling...guess what? It was an exhaust leak . I have not pinpointed where it is yet but i know it is in the front section (between the header and extension/muffler piping). I know that i have to get this fixed but is there anyway possible to temporarily fix because it is annoying and there is some torque loss, something like a screw clamp and metal or something. I cant even afford the hundred something bucks it would cost to get the piping piece from ebay for a few weeks. Any help is greatly appreciated. I will not go offroading, I will not go offroading, I will not go...
See, the thing is almost any car can go rallying. The problem is that rallying has more potential to damage your car than say auto x just because of the sometimes uneven nature of the dirt, snow, whatever. That's why they say that if you can't afford the repairs, don't take your vehicle rallying.

I don't think he meant to take it rallying

sounds like its just your flex pipe... in which case its an easy $30 or less fix at any muffler shop.
Sadly that's not the case. Last quote I got on my flex pipe was $185/side of the flex pipe to remove it, then replace it with a new one and seal it up. I know that price is raping.
But Allen is right. It does sound exactly like the flex pipe. When the cloth tears, the thin metal around it vibrates causing the noise you are hearing. I have the same problem currently. It's nothing urgent as far as keeping your engine running. However if you are suffering power loss it seem like it would be a lot bigger of a hole. A brand new flex pipe from Toyota runs around $400.
I would get your car jacked up as soon as you have a chance and take some pics. If you post those up we can get a better idea of whats going on. Take pics of everything also. Suspension, engine, CV boot, drive axel. That way we can make sure everything is ok
