Gen5 Will Sway bars and and upgraded shocks.......

I was wondering if I should get sway bars for my camry. I was wondering if that would get rid of the ride quality? I already like the smoothness of the car's suspensions and I don't like the all rocky and bouncing ride on cars with sport suspensions. Like my mom's FX35. Since I drove that car too many times, I got sick of it. So, does anyone know if that'll happen if I install sway bars, shocks, and stabilizers?

Sway bars will not effect ride quality. They will effect your handling.

BTW, I'm assuming you're gonna install aftermarket sway bars. Camrys already come with sway bars... they're just really narrow and the bushings suck.

Yeah. I'm thinking about getting the TRD Sways for Gen 5. It should fit for the Gen 5.5
So basically, the handling will increase or decrease?

You'll get more oversteer than understeer.

So, is that bad thing or a good for certain conditions?

Thanks for the info.

NP.

As for driving hard with the rear sway bar, my car handled soo much better with a lot less understeer. I could push the car harder with no problems.

thicker rear sway bar = less body roll

I prefer over steer because FF cars have a tendancy to understeer and understeer (personally) is scarier to deal with than over steer. You can control oversteer more when you have an FF car and it's something that you want.

ive read in other threads that adding a fsb will hold the car down further on turns but amount of understeer will go back to stock.

how are body roll and understeer/oversteer related?

Do shocks if you have the money, they will increase your performance way more then anything else.

But other then that, If you dont wanna do springs because of the decrese in ride quality, i would go with some new roll bars from TRD i think they are each about 200 bucks. Also, maybe lowering springs that have the same tension rating as your stock springs, giviing you a lower center of gravity while not drastically stiffening your ride.

For springs youre gonna have to do some research to see what have the softest tension, etc, but check out Tein, TRD, Eibach, you know, the biggies.
