i was racing my car and pushing it really hard then i had to slow down and stop for a light. well once it turned green i maybe went up to 3k rpms in first then shifted into second, then all of sudden i felt a release of power or something, then the next thing i hear is a loud noise under my hood, almost like a jack hammer. it sounds like its coming from my block or around that general region, does anyone know what it is?
mycambeatsurciv, i believe your motor was ready to get replace..but like 2wickedtoyz said..you rev it up too high..toyotas arent like hondas where you can get up to 8000 or 9000 rpm..

Sounds like you spun a rod bearing(s) from over reving the motor.
If its knocking like I think is, its only going to get worst.
I never trusted in REBUILT Motors..But hey..i say have the one who did it..check it..but he'll ask you..what did you do that cause this problem..better have a good excuse..
3k shifts aren't that hard..thats my daily driving.
Racing at 3000 RPM? I dont think so.
You have a manual I think?
Sudden loss of power with loud noises usually mean the end of an engine.
i wasnt racing at 3k rpms, i stopped racing, came to a stop, then shifted up to 3k, then i felt the loss of power, and camry doesnt mean safe driver, some one has gotta make the camry more than a MILF car.
dude...the camry can be more than a "MILF" car....and for the record...coming from someone with 8 points on his NYS liscence....take it to a track, throw down against some real competition. Sounds like a rod to me
