Don't buy a kit... its worse than halogen. Trust me.

I went with rebased 4100k D2R philips bulbs and koito ballasts from an IS300. It is only marginally brighter and the lighting pattern is AWEFUL.

I am just glad I can resuse the ballasts when I finish my retrofit.

Get it from Xenith. He's a vendor here and he'll give you the info you need to fit in your camry. As for me, I did some research on cars with HID without projectors. Like the IS and the old ES330s. I checked the housing and there's not much stuff you need to do. I'm planning to get HIDs once I get the SE headlights for my car.

There is a BIG difference between the Reflectors in the IS300 and other reflector based HID and the halogen reflectors we have. Trust me, you will not be happy.

If you must... buy a kit that uses OEM parts so when you decide to upgrade to a retrofit (and you will) you won't have to pay out twice. Plus with OEM parts you know you are buying tried and true reliable.

Also remember to make a relay harness when you wire in the ballasts unless you want your expensive factory wiring to go up in smoke.

Also, don't go over 6000k. 4300k is stock on all OEM HID, and is the brightest. Once you hit 8000k and above you are in halogen brightness territory.

8000k lights makes me sick in my stomach because it's too damn blue. I saw a SC300 once with 8000k HID and it was sick. Sick as in

I'm planning to get either 4000k or 5000k, and I've checked which HID to get for my reflector housings.

Gen5 hid lights

Hey bud!

As soon as i get my digital camera back from my dad i will have a "show and tell" post on here for you.

I have the base model 05 LE with manual tranny.

Bought some hid plug and play lights for around 250 on ebay with a 2-year warranty against discoloration of the light output to the ballast going bad.

also since mine is a "Japan" sedan, i have pop-outs where the fog lights go. Toyota wanted 600 for the set of fogs--bought 2 OEM fog lights off ebay for a total of 170.

ordered 9006 yellow bulbs for the fogs.........looks like is300.

totally awesome.

ill post pics soon

I bet there nowhere near as bright as projectors. You need to take the safe route We have all seen people with hid kits coming in our rear view mirror with glare so bad that we can't concentrate on what is in front of us

How/where do you find out your Camry was made?

I assumed all Camry's were made in USA since they sell them here . Guess not...=P

Check your VIN. The first letter after the first number is going to be either a K or a J. They stand for Kentucky or Japan. I've got a japan-made Camry as well

Glaring blue HID bulbs are NOT classy, and don't make your car look nice, no matter what that kid in the Civic told you.

if your vin# begins with JT, then it swam here from japan, otherwise, it is made in U.S.A
most of gen5 camry with manual transmision begins with JT

That cant be entirely accurate because the letter after the first number of my VIN is neither a "J" or a "K"...its a "T".
