Gen5 Just ordered some TRD parts.

Well, went to the Toyota dealer parts shop and ordered some TRD parts. Showed them a price list from a mail order and they just gave me 20% off from list. Not a great deal but not bad for a dealer parts shop and very convenient. Should be here in a week and a half to 2 weeks. What I ordered:

front strut brace
rear sway bar
lowering springs
drop in filter

Didn't order the muffler as I plan on a cat-back system later. Still thinking/deciding on rim/tire combo. Very much looking foward to the release of a supercharger for the 3.3l.Gonna be a fun weekend when the parts get here.

The lowering spring will run you for $220 average for both front and back. IT's $108 for two springs, well at the dealer I go to.

Strutbars runs around $210 average

Swaybars are $200+

Filter probably runs around $40 or more.

That 40% is correct. At least for gas station parts sales. Used to be a auto mechanic at a Union 76 and a Chevron station before I joined the Navy.

Has anyone ever had experience with the drop-in TRD filter? Does it actually give you better intake performance? Or would it just be worth it to spend a little more and get a complete Injen Cold Air???

Glaring blue HID bulbs are NOT classy, and don't make your car look nice, no matter what that kid in the Civic told you.

Still waiting for my parts as the dealer ordered discontinued part # and had to reorder. Will "post seat of the pants" after I get the parts installed. Unfortunately, the only intake mod available is the drop in filter for gen 5.5 v6.

I don't feel any difference, but it certainly will helps you in all levels of rpm
it's like the difference between P3 733mhz and P3 766mhz, can you feel the difference? No. Does it helped? Yes.

lol thanks for the input. Perhaps I'll just go with it instead of the complete cold air... i don't really want my gen 5 to be really loud, and I don't race it, and if I drove it for performance, I wouldn't be driving a Camry haha... so maybe I'll just get the drop-in and save my money for something else.

Ya, Gen 5 got tons of low rev torque, just preserve the air box and enjoy the torque
