Problem with ignition lock

Unlocking and turning the key in the ignition switch on my 98 Camry is becoming increasingly difficult. I really have to play with the key to key to get it to turn. Wiggle it around, slide it in and out, etc until it finally catches. And it's not just one key, but three different ones. Also, the keys work just fine in the door and trunk locks. Why would the ignition be so tempermental?

either you need a new key cut...or it is time to change a lock cylinder...about $80 if you do it yourself...pretty easy to do

Sounds more like the cylinder. None of my keys work in the ignition, though they all work in the dore and trunk locks. If it is the cylinder, it sounds like some type of defect. I have never heard of a lock cylinder wearing out.

I used to have a '95 Corolla and my cylinder wore out. What happened to me sounds exactly like what you describe. You can't really get the key into the ignition unless you jiggle it a little and all that... so yes, its your cylinder. I had an auto locksmith fix it for me for $95.

Glaring blue HID bulbs are NOT classy, and don't make your car look nice, no matter what that kid in the Civic told you.
