Gen5 cup holder material

I know this is an extremely random question, but does anybody know what the spongy type material that's on the edge of the front cupholders is called and where I can get it? It's on the gen 5.5, but I don't know if it's present in previous generations.

the sponge like material can be bought at most craft stores.
don't know what it is called but if you visit a child's class room, they are bound to have a box full of them. i remember playing with it as a kid.

the problem with that particular material is that is tends to soak up any liquid. which is why they changed it to a rubbery type material now.

The material used on the Gen 5 looked and felt like neoprene. Don't know if G5.5 is similar.
