im no pro at this... but just a little recommendation... if you are going to turbo your car... why not just swap a camry 5-speed in there? you would be able to beef it up enough to take the beating from the turbo'd engine and not worry about burning it up like you would with an auto

just a thought

stay away from Auto trans....manual conv is the way to go...thats my next step..my auto can barely hold the power of my NA'd v6 now with the mods i did let alone a turbo...it should handle up to 350 at crank or so but not for long at all...look into getting a 5speed manual from a newer solara or avalon or MR2 (dunno if the pattern of the MR2 fits but who knows) ull spend just as much money on the coversion with junkyard parts as an auto tranny from a junkyard...auto's will be 2x as much because of how rare they are to come across for a v6 camry...ive done some research on it b4. u can get a 2001 solara manual for about $450 with 20000mi while a 120000mi auto from a 93 v6 camry will be over $800...go to a U-pull it and it will be even cheaper if u have the time and tools.

Cool

E-153, 5 speed manual transmission.
Prefferably, you'd want to modify the Celica one to fit. It has a slightly shorter ratio that would be easier for the i4 to pull. (turbo or not)

If you want Automatic, make the A540e - A541e fit. That's the auto from a v6 camry. It's stronger with more potential. (keep in mind it'll have slightly longer gears so the i4 won't pull them as well)

If you're not going to rebuild the engine before you turbo, any of the stock v6, or turbo i4 FWD transmissions are stronger than the engine itself is.

yea man, sum big bucks unless you know ppl, expect about 1000 min if ur doin a auto tranny conversion with junkyard parts...and about 800min (junkyard part) for an auto from a v-6 of that year plus installation fees. expect another 500+ for master rebuild kit with sum upgrades plus installation unless u do it urself, urself ur lookin at probably $700 when said and done since things always seem to break with that age car...i know, been ther done that. my rebuild cost 1100 parts, only 575 for the kit. plus the turbo...lookin at some g's ther too....gl
