i have a 2000 camry 4 cyl auto tranny and it seems like everytime i start my car in the morning the BRAKE light is always on i continue to drive for a couple minutes and after braking a couple of times for red lights it goes away. it always lights up when i start up in the car in the morning when the engine is cold. any suggestions of the problem? time to change the brakes or brake fluid? it has 61000 miles on it

My dad used to have that same problem in his corolla. In our case, it was just a minor computer problem. They took care of it at a body shop with no problems. Have the car looked over. Otherwise, i think the light only goes on when the brake is engaged, not when it needs to be fixed. So yea, just let a mechanic have a look at it but i highly doubt it is something very important.

i never use the ebrake when i park so i dont know why the light is on

Check brake fluid
