3rd Generation Trunk Lid Heavy/Slow to open

I have a complaint on my Rear Trunk Lid, it is heavy and it does not want to raise up quick. Ended up banging my head, thinking after you shove it, it will lift up! NOT! Anything I can do to it? Does this mean the spings have to be replaced?

Do other folks see this, too?

Thanks.

Yeah, I don't think my trunk ever popped up completely. It only opens, and then MANUALLY you push it up.

Mine only pops up like 1/2 inch at the most, is this really a big deal? It's not that hard to open a trunk

Yeah when I pop mines it only pops it up about 1/2" to an 1". It really isn't hard to lift at all, so where's the problem.

Mine doesn't pop up anymore...I actually have to use additional supports for it....consequences of putting a TV in your trunk

Yeah. Mine opens like 1/2" and I have to lift the rest. If you really want to be lazy you could always install some heavy duty springs. But then again if you could barely lift it now, then forget trying to close it after that.

That's the point, mine barely opens up, you would think it has not popped. It actually sticks to the rubber gasket. Had to spray armour all to free it up.

I guess the springs can be replaced, but since it is an older car, what to replace with? I wonder if they ever got complaints on this issue.

Mine, you would not know when it has popped on not. This is the silliest thing. Most of the time, you try to pop it and it is still lock, yeah, and you have created this huge scratch........shitty!

Sometimes, you put in a lot of force and the darn thing bops and closes quick, hitting your hands or your forehead.....tell you what, it pisses me off...

Any suggestions?

My Honda does not do that!

American cars are the best for trunks.....that's all they are good on....

Put a wing on it and it wont open at all when you pull the lever!

I can't beleive I have to open my trunk all the way by myself.... Good thing there is no room to put anything in there...
