5S-FE heads

are the heads from ALL 5S-FE interchangable? Is there a differnce between the ones on Camry and MR2? Thanks.

Not sure about the cylinder head on a MR2.

There is a difference in the cylinder head on a Camry depending on the year. The oil and water passages changed.

The later (97+) 5S-FEs on a Camry don't have a distributor.

The 5SFE is the same. Headers from a MR2 will bolt up to the camry but the problem you will run into is the down pipe. It bends the complete opposite way than the camry, you will have to buy a down pipe or have one custom made.

^ He's asking about a cylinder head, not a header.

ok... not sure what year this camry engine is and not sure how to find out. any suggestions? the block is toast.. the head is fine... have 91 mr2... and this spare engine from a camry... paid $50 for it... many parts are still usable... am thinking to port and polish maybe even shave the head IF it will fit the 2... but only if it will fit. so anysuggestions again on how to determine when this camry engine was produced? thanks again!!
