2vzfe knock sensor whereabouts

anyone know the location of the knock sensor(s) on the 2vz-fe...

haynes-chilton givin me nada on that topic except acknowledging their existence--- anyway my cel has been going on and offf due to this for years (code 52)----could this also be affecting my idle speeds based on timing retardation (i just love saying it)?

any help much appreciated

Cool

I have a 3vz-fe, so the parts will look different, but you'll get the idea.

1) take the upper intake air chamber off




2) take the intake manifold off




3) There are two knock sensors. They're screwed into the top of the block of the engine between the heads. (In the top of the V in the block, if you like that better)



See in the bottom of the picture two grey plugs that just plug into the block? (one for head bank of cylinders)

Take the plug off and the knock sensor just screws out of the block.

In haynes, go over removing the upper intake, and intake manifold.
