I took my car to a shop to get it checked out for the rear clunking. And they told me that the rear link kit is loose. They gave me price of about $300 CAD to fix this. My question is what is link-kit??

If it is the swaybar links, I paid less than $25 each CDN$ and the replacement ones had longer threaded ends so the Whiteline SB fit no problem - the stock threads were too short anyway. The dealer wanted alomst $100 EACH for the same things. Don't buy from the dealer.
www.rockauto.com has a good parts search so you can get some descriptions/price ideas - then goto your local parts guy.
Good luck,

Your links arent loose the bushings are just blown. You're fine to drive on them, they'll just keep clunking.
CTMotorsport.com has new endlinks for $70 a pair

Its in no way dangerous some cars have no sway bars ... Some mecanics are thieves ..
this is what i got for those thieves....
anyhow, how easy is it to change the bushing myself?
I think i'll go for aftermarket bushing. Would the ones from CTMotorsport be sufficient? Or get a whiteline sway bar and use the included bushing instead??
Or am I getting it all wrong that changing the bushing while changing sway bar will NOT make the sound go away. And that end link is the only KEY to my solution??

Its the swaybar endlinks that are making the clunking sound. Not the swaybar bushings.
The endlinks are pretty easy to change. You need a 5mm allen wrench, closed end wrench (12mm or 14mm, I forget), and some oil (WD-40, PB Blaster, etc..).
1. Spray down both nuts on the endlink with the oil and let it soak in.
2. Place a closed end wrench over the nut.
3. Place the allen wrench in the middle of the nut. You'll see a hole that it'll fit in.
4. Hold the allen wrench and break the nut loose with the wrench.
5. Repeat steps 1 - 4.
6. Install the new endlinks. Installation is the reverse of removal.
its...that easy?
i'm trying to find the picture in my Haynes manual
anyhow, i'm gonna wait till what part the mechanic is ordering first then see if its matches waht CTmotorsport has, and what you guys have been describing
you guys have been awesome
