4th Generation ABS or bad rotors?

Recently I installed new brake pads and cross-drilled rotors. However, sometimes when i brake softly it feels like it slows down and brake in stages. as if i were pumping the brake pedal. I dont think it is ABS because my tires arent slipping, its at low speeds and the braking intervals are much slower than the ABS. so what could this be?? could it be bad rotors bad brake pads, or they both are not compatiable or ABS???

I'm guessing it's not the ABS. You know when ABS is working- you can feel the very quick pulsating of the brake petal, and if you turn the radio off and close the windows, you should hear the sound- kind of quiet electronic whine. If there was a specific problem with the ABS, the light would be on. So that probably means that it's the pads or rotors you installed.

I'd take the tires off and check to make sure things look okay. maybe one of the pads is sticking, or you could simply have a bad pad or caliper (sp). Or take it back to the shop that installed it.

Either way, I'd make sure your brakes are working 100%, even if it means spending some money at a shop to make sure.... you don't want to screw with brakes.

Yeah. What kind of pad did you use? The pad backing plate might be off... Do not use cheap pads...
