ok i am 18 with no job and my parents dont give me any money. imma have to pay for school soon and i have no money left to mod my car
these are the mods i do have
wannabe intake
muffler that sounds pretty.
i got my muffler first. it sounded ok but there was no increase in power whatsoever! than i bought a CP filter and i put it on.there was little improvement, but than i removed my resignator from the stock piping and i felt the power. it was wierd. my car smokes civics n stuff but i want it to look pretty. oh yeah i got some rims one in front is cracked so im rollin on blackys in front. i can fix the rim whenever but it looks gay because i cant afford to drop my car. the reason being that my struts are old and weak and if i dropped it i would need some new struts or else with 4 heads in the car with a 2 inch drop the ass will be dragging. i do not currntly have pics but i should have some soon.
does anyone else have simular problems feel free to share. ballers need not reply!
No worries there, dude. You'll enjoy the process so much more when its something you worked for. This whole thing is about the journey as much as the destination. Also, I can tell you that after modifying my Camry for years and doing pretty much everything one can do to a 3rd Gen, the destination is still unclear. So don't worry about the end result, and enjoy the journey.
Also, I give you props for having the right mindset. Dropping a car on bad struts is a bad idea and not the proper way of doing things. Do it right, or not do it at all. There's always the temptation, especially due to a limited budjet to do a half-a$$ job. You seem to have resisted this temptation.
Also, paying for the education is infinitely more bang for your buck. So, props again.
Good luck with the mods.

I'm feeling SUPER, no, nothing bugs me;
Everything is SUPER when you're...
I agree with SBC (no choice  ) A solid knowledge base is much more respected then going out and doing stupid things to the car that will actually achieve the opposite of what your original intentions were. Just stick around and ask questions so that when it come time to make purchases, you'll know what some of your options are and can make a decision which best fits your needs 8) In the meantime, invest in relatively inexpensive mods like Strut brace, DIY CAI, metalic brake pads, change all your liquids that you've been neglecting, etc...
Man you're lucky enough that you got a car and a 2 door stick camry?? You know its like the Integra's but not just any, a Type-R, very rare and worth alot!
I'm sure every gen3 owner would want that one!
Just because you don't have money don't mean you can't hook up your car. As for looks all your paying for is a the labor. There are countless thing that can spiff up your car . you can make your own grill or redo your interior (vynle or airbrush). I bet you get more enjoyment seeing your own creation than the pay a few hundred here and there for parts that no one can see but you. just keep lookin at the good side.
What SBC said is true. In modding my car, I could go out there and drop cash on cheap parts and get everything done half-assed, but not have the car how _I_ want it.. or I could do things right, maybe wait a bit.. do things piece by piece until I build a car that I'm happy with. I've only had my new Cam for about a month now, and as much as I wanted to go drop a ton of money on putting the rest of my stereo back in, tinting the windows, etc... I'm going to do things in an order that will make me happiest. Starting suspension work tomorrow, because I want a car that's more fun to drive (and one that doesn't make the tires chirp when i fly around corners 8))
Just do what you can and what makes you happy with your car. It all takes time, anyone who says it doesn't isn't going to appreciate all the work it takes to turn a stock car into a fun machine anyway...
(Edit: I like to contradict myself when I talk [typo/brain fart])
 i have no money either.. my camry is basically all stock. hell it is stock.. just clear bumper lights.. and changed the clear rear panel to a solid panel from a 95' cam. but.. i applied for a job today.. and hopefully i get it..
When I was 18, we had to take the BUS everywhere!!! We didn't have cars, we were happy taking the TTC! We even had to walk barefoot in the winter....
Okay, I hate spending money on mods...if you can scrounge up cash, I can tell you some ghetto mods. CAI will cost about $50, a custom front grill could cost only $20...a can of spray paint can do wonders for the look of your car! Get some used amps from Ebay...buy a cheapy sub and you'll be rockin'! Once you start making some money, then you can start upgrading your stuff. I actually went through 5 subwoofers in the last 2 years before setting on my Clarion!
well i just lost my job and when i got the camry the motor blew that was a lot of money. i am not just sitting around at home im looking for a job that i could keep for a long time. hence a job that i would enjoy. my parents are moving to new mexico and imma have to be on my own soon. school is gonna have to wait until i am finacialy stable enough to work reduced hours and go to school. but imma take a couple of classes in automotive tech and do my car up myself. i hope to make a career out of it. im just lagging! TRD!
I have a job and it pays but.... I have a 2nd Gen Camry and parts and stuff are hard to find for the thing so be happy that u have a good platform to move on. The things i have done i feel like i have accoplished something it's hard work and i spend alot of hours looking for parts and putting them on so when the money comes u will feel great about all u have done to the Camry
