Gen5 Wiper blades?

Hi,

Just wanted to change the wiper blades on my Camry since they are now 4 years old. My questions are:

1. How often should they be replaced if I drive an average of 240 km per week?

2. Having only...

a. Lordco,
c. Toyota Dealership,
b. Canadian Tire...

...stores at my disposal, what would be the best wiper blades that I could get?

Thanks!

I say if it isn't broken, don't fix it. My dad has never changed the blades on his 1988 Corolla (yes, that's 88, not 98), and he's not complaining. Toyota's blades would be the best since you know it'll be an exact fit. I bought some aftermarket ones and it turned out you couldn't replace the insert without doing a lot of work.

Cool

Honestly, toyota OEM wiper blades are very kick ass w' very long life. Unfortunately... You pay for it.
I've historically got about a year, give or take, on typical Autozone cheap wipers before I wanted a new set.

Yeah Autozone blades last about a year. And don't waste your money on the Bosch blades because they will last just as long as the cheaper Anco blades.

The new Avalon I saw at the Toronto Auto Show this past spring had Trico Innovision / Canadian Tire Reflex wiper blades installed as OEM.

i would go with the toyota replacement blades from a dealer.

u might pay a few bucks more, but at least it will sit right.
Got some at Wallyworld and it did not sit right. Could not return it cos I did not have the receipt after i installed it. Sucks to the max.

go to the dealer

1. How often should they be replaced if I drive an average of 240 km per week?
A) when it goes bad... And it depends on the rainfall in your area. Someone in Seattle will need to change it more often than someone in CA. I personally change it every two years in NJ.

2. Having only...

a. Lordco,
c. Toyota Dealership, <= my vote
b. Canadian Tire...

I go to Canadian Tire...I just tried their new wind ones, with the little flap on it that helps push it down when you're moving fast....

10 bucks a piece, and they wipe pretty good....so far, I'm pretty impressed

toyota ones are great but I'm not willing to pay 30bucks for one....and those teflon ones are a waste of money too....only lasted me 1 season as well

Thanks for all the replies - great help!

Since I'm gonna be bringing in the car for an oil change next week, I'll most likely just get them to install the blades for me.

Thanks again.

Oh, and btw, has anyone used Toyota's "Toyota Touch" cleaning service? At first glance it seems overly priced, but someone told me that it was pretty good cleaning...ideas?

I have no idea on what's "Toyota Touch". But I DO RECOMMEND Rain-X strongly!!! I cannot live without it. It's one of the greatest invention on earth (next to A/C, TV and beer).
