The clamp is there ecause he put his nephew to make the final stuff on the muffler, and the kid forgot to take it off. I just noticed the clamp today. About the hangers, I thought it was normal for them to rust?

Well the clamp is whats holding the piping to the muffler inlet. The piping should be welded.

The hangers will eventually rust, but they shouldn't already be rusted. Since you just got the muffler installed.

I would take it back to them, have them weld up that pipe, and take off the clamp.

I will take it back because of the clamp.

But, I didn't just get it installed. It's been installed for about two weeks.

Not very loud, the loudest it will get is around 2k RPM and it's not a ricey sound, it's a nice deep tone. I love it.

I was only able to do about 3' of piping because he was out of 2.25" at the time. I need to go whenever I have some time to get the whole piping re-done.

well man, do you think rust forms in 2 weeks... there should not be a spec of rust yet.. unless you have gone at it with a razor and chipped the chrome off.. althgouh i suppose of the person installing it did a crappy weld job, that could be why its all rusty as well
