2nd Generation V6 tranny swap

I have a 1991 toyota camry 2.5 v6 and ive heard there is a 5 speed manual for it. I was wondering where i could get one and how much it would cost, or do i have to just go to a junkyard.

In terms of models..try the E52 (which is the standard 5 speed gearbox for that engine) or do what im doing and run the E153, which is stronger and has better ratios/syncros. The only problem i can see for mine is the top gearbox mount..which is easily fabricated.

Any news on your tranny swap?

Did you ever find out if your upper tranny mount will bolt to the lower half of the E-153 mount?

Like I told you before, anything will fit with a BFH (big f'in hammer), torch / plasma cutter, and welder.

Wel..basiclly i've got everyting i need to do the swap. I highly doubt the top mount will work..so yeah..going to have to cut the old one or something to suit it. I also havnt got any inner 3vz axles..as i'll try to use my ones. Apparently the carrier at the back is the same..so fingers crossed that they will fit into the transmission. If not..ill TRY and get some inners..as there HARD TO FIND!. Otherwise yeah i have everything i need and misc bolts/brackets (if required) ill just make up at the time. Ill prob start on the 19th of June, as thats when the school holidays start and ive got a good 2-3 weeks that i dont need the car.

Ill keep ya posted.
