Camry & Solara LoungeDiscussion area for every generation of Toyota's family car, the Toyota Camry. Lexus ES250/300 owners welcome! Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance and more.
Video from two weeks ago. GM-8 Spools 5.88psi at 3500rpm. 4000rpm it takes off. Because the 315cc injectors are way under-sized for that fairly... Well endowed turbo, you can see it lean out horribly by 4500rpm.
Car's being taken apart for ceramic coating, and a few misc part upgrades (Intercooler change, BACK to new 550cc injectors, new engine management) later on and *should* be back on the road with a 15psi spring early - mid summer.
CGT's to MCE for beating everybody else to the punch!
Car information can be found HERE, but be forewarned. The information is not 100% up to date as things change. (Such as MCE has never used an S-AFC... Stock ECU controls fueling right now)

Yea i really need to update that mods list. I'll have some real videos in the upcoming weeks, when im giving it full throttle and not just playing around to see if the car runs lol. Thanks for posting that Brandon!

Turbo 3vz-fe with Nitrous...you have questions? I have answers, Get a hold of me on aim!
I thought toyota has been turboing the 3vz in their trucks for racing for some time now.

Does it require some sort of adjustment to the ECU? Because, the turbo sucks in plenty more air than stock, may cause premature wide opening of the flap.
AFM in your Turbo intake line?! I suppose you are using a custom MAF sensor on the intake connected to your phelum?
No custom MAF's for 3vz-fe's for two reasons:
1) The 3vz-fe all ready has the largest AFM (air-flow meter = vane-flap) Toyota ever used in a car (including old i6 turbo's)
2) The 3vz-fe AFM uses a backwards scale... Instead of 0v being idle, and running up to around 5v as airflow increases; the AFM runs 5-0v. Specifically, it starts around 4.5v, and idles between 4.2-4.5v. Wide Open Throttle / high rpm / airflow on the stock engine lowers to around 1.5v.
Because of the fact that the stock 3vz-fe will all ready OUT FLOW nearly every hot-wire MAF Toyota has ever used, and the fact that this is the only known 5-0v scale that I've researched in *any* Toyota (I've talked to many part dealers). There is no reason to swap parts for all, but the highest horsepower engines.
The stock AFM should be fairly accurate until at-least 400hp with of airflow. Even when you pass it's normal limit, you can simply by-pass the stock AFM. By that I mean give the air TWO paths to travel, then simply use a piggyback to re-adjust it.
The problem comes in when you keep adding airflow and you hit the minium voltage. Around 0.4 volts. Even if you swapp, and calibrate a different air meter, what exactly happens???
You can't swing a negative voltage on this scale, and there-hence-forth I *HIGHLY* doubt Toyota did any ECU programming when the AFM voltage hits 0v! LoL!!!

Well considering he use to do it with 240-250hp n/a, with a 120 to 150 spray of juice on top of that... It's nothing new for him!
The *best* part about sean having the fastest ES/Windom/Camry/Vista I've actually seen run, (nothing against Justin or Tony, Justin aint re-built yet, and Tony is simply having that last 10% filled with problems, on a 90% done beastly project.)
Sean is tied for the SLOWEST of all his car group. Even if you're tied with a Mustang for being the slowest of the group, the 800hp+ Viper is good company to be in, bawahahahahahaha!

Well what some of us have known for over a month that it was Sean McElligott!
I haven't been on for a while and ran across this while doing a search...
Sorry Toysrme, hate to correct you because I'll always be the first to give props to Sean for his endeavors, but there's been a running 3VZ Camry turbo in Melborne, FL since early 2003:
While on Florida in 2003 for a family wedding, I met the two brothers who built it.
They were more than happy to invite me over and check it out...

Garret T3 running 10psi with stock internals on an automatic tranny, using a Greddy E-Manage that they wired on their own.
It was running when I saw it, so as far as I'm concerned, it does count.
Even with that being said, definite props to you Sean...
Keep pushing Man...I always look forward to any updates...
