3rd Generation Dome Light Sensro (searched)

Ive got a question about the dome light on my gen 3 that I dont believe has been answered. I noticed that the dome light no longer comes on when either rear door is opened. I played with the switches, pushed them in and aout, and nothing. The fronts work fine. If they dont do anything is there any way I can fix them? or do I need whole new switches? its not a major problem, just annoying at night, I know this is a common problem for gen 3s. thanks

i believe he's talking about the one in very middle of the top of the cabin...

i had a similar problem after i unscrewed the fixture. what i realized was that the wires got bunched or something and i had to jiggle the whole plastic peice (the thing that holds the bulb) around and it worked again...don't really know how but maybe u should take the fixture off, jiggle it, make sure the connections are good...

other than that, check the "dome" fuse...

try just opening it and leaving it open for awhile b/c that happens with mine and it takes sometimes 30 seconds before the light finally comes on...

Pull the rubber cover up from each of the switches from the bottom. You will find one 10MM bolt. Remove that bolt and pull the switches out slightly. Leave the wires attached. You will probably find the backs of the switches and the bolts are rusty. Clean off the backs of the switches and the bolt itself and also the threaded hole with some sandpaper or a wire brush. Then add some dielectric grease to everything and put it all back together. The bolt acts as the ground for this circuit and when it gets a bit rusty is doesn't complete the circuit.

Any autoparts store should have dielectric grease. You can try the fix without the dielectric grease to see if it solves your problem. The dielectric grease is just to keep the rust from coming back. You can add it later if this solves your problem. Don't forget to clean the bolt threads thoroughly.

3rd Generation Blown light!

Ok... what and where do you find the replacement bulbs for the FRONT interior light?
I am talking about the one that is like the reading light... I have a sun roof and it is next to the rocker buttons for the sun roof. THAT bulb blew.. and i have no idea where to find a replacement!!!
