Ticking sounds...

hi, i have a prob. and i just wanna know if it's just me or everyone as well...
here it goes: i have a 94 v6 cam le stock and every time after driving(even when my parents drive it-->slowly), when i park it in the garage it ticks... it goes tick tick tick tick... i'm guessin it is b/c the car is overheating cus it's hot around the car, but why does it make that ticking sound.. and from where? i mean, even when coming back from a slow drive, it takes... please help!

I have that same problem, but only when the air conditioner is running. When I turn the air off, the ticking goes away. Im pretty sure its the engine fan, but i dont know for sure...

The ticking sound your hearing is normal. Its just parts of the exhaust cooling down (heat shield, cat, etc...)

what octane gasoline do you use? you may wanna upgrade. i use 91 all the time nothing else. i did some research and it seems that the ticking is caused by some misfire when your gasoline is burning. im still not sure if this is true but i upgraded gasoline and the ticking was redused. but everyones car ticks even my friends lexus.

Uhh... Your talking about something totally different.

The ticking sound their talking about is after the engine is off. The ticking sound your talking about is ping / detonation.
