I have read the few threads I found with the search button, and they were great. Just a few things though: do you pull the whole dash out when you paint it? Also, if you paint the steering wheel, do I have to paint it in the car, or is there an easy way to pull it off with out the airbag blowing up in my face?

Reason: new questions
lol you could just leave the dash in while painting in.......although i'm not a pro but if you do just put newspaper over the bottom so it won't drip. i have no clue on how to do all that

I would remove the dash to make sure everything is painted even and to make sure you don't paint anything you don't want to paint. It will take you more time, but it will be worth it if you want to do a good job.
About the steering wheel, yes, you can remove it. I'm not sure where the screws and all that stuff is. But you should get a Haynes manual so that you will also know how to remove the dash and everything else you might want to remove to paint.
actually u would have to put paper all over the whole interior b/c of overspray...
u can remove the steering wheel; u gotta disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, and start removing the trim around the steering wheel and disconnect all the wires leading like cruise control if u have it and the airbag wires (it wont deploy when the batt. is disconnected) then paint...

I'm not sure if this is true of not, but I've heard that it's a bad idea to paint over the airbag. If it deploys, the little bits of paint can get in you eyes. Might be BS, but maybe worth considering...

I think thats the last thing I would be worried about in a life or death situation when the air bag has to be deployed.

Yeah, I'd be a little more worried about bending sheet metal about to sever my head from my body or the 10million pieces of broken glass hurdleing at me from my side windows than a few pieces of dried spray paint in my eye.
Im thinking about painting my wheel. I will let you know if I do. The part that's a pain in the ass is masking everything off. I left my dash in the last 3 times i painted the interior. It's quite fun to do. I did remove the door panels to paint them though. I also removed the black part out of the dash (ie..vents, AC controls) That made it a little easier. I masked off my gauge cluster also. Newspapered the whole windsheild. Covered everthing else in bedsheets and went to work. Light even coats is the key. Clearcoat the plastic things.
