pzev vehicle in NYC

My 2005 LE has partial zero emissions vehicles,(PZEV) if this vehicle has california standard emissions,WHY is it being sold in N.Y.C.,Will this be any problems in future.

California just has a higher standard for emissions than the rest of the country. I don't think New York has separate emissions standards, so I'm betting since NYC is a densely populated area, the PZEV model is available to help curb pollution.

As far as problems, there aren't any really. If you didn't know already, the PZEV engine's horsepower rating is a few less than the regular ULEV engine, but you can be proud that you are hardly polluting the environment when you drive!

New York is a California emissions state. States can pick Federal or the stricter Calif. standards. I think 8 (10 in the near future) states have CA emissions. Most (like NY) are in the northeast.

I stand corrected. I was just guessing, since I thought that California standards meant California only.
