Gen5 Brake Pad info

I have noticed the brakes on my 03 Camry starting to squeel a little, time to check them out. Do you buy the Toyota brake pads? Why? Where?

Is there a write up somewhere on the Gen 5 pad replacment?

Thanks....

Looks like you are a hard braker. But it might not be that the pads have
worn out unless you have confirmed it.

I changed my first pair pads (rear ones, believe or not) a few months
ago for my 96 V6. Since changing the pads is so easy and the pads
do not cost that much, I simply bought a pair from a dealer for $35.

Some ones might suggest ceramic ones and those might last longer.
But for me, the original ones lasted 9 years. Good enough for me.

I guess that would depend on how much the dealer wants to charge you for the pads. For me, buying parts from the dealer is out of the question because they're too expensive.

I think Bosch pads run about $45 for the front and $40 for the rears. I use Bosch pads on all my cars, they seem to work well. Not saying that Toyota pads don't work well but the expense (at my dealer) prevents me from buying Toyota parts.

look on the dealer's website, they usually give you 10% off.

i bought a toyota air filter for $12 w/ coupon. retail was $21.
Go to toyota.com > Dealers > put in your zip code > Load dealer's page > Click on Parts and Coupon
