Gen5 K&N VS. Weapon R filter

Hello people, quick question, I did not find an answer when I searched the forums, but I have a weapon r intake for my 02 Camry. I was thinking about replacing their foam filter with a K&N filter. It’s probably all relative, but do you think the K&N’s would be higher flowing then weapon-r’s foam filter? I might just do it because of the K&N warranty.

Anyways your thoughts are appreciated!

Personally, I don't think you can get much better than K&N when it comes to intakes and air filters.

Weapon R is crap compared to K&N. Weapon R is more of a show item and K&N is more towards performance.

No K&N does not make a intake for the GEN five only Weapon R for the GEN 5 V6 and ingen for the GEN 5.5 V6.

When you people say Weapon R is crap do you mean the whole intake or the filter, because thats all I'm asking about, just the filter not the pipe.

Not according to Tuner Performance Reports (TPR). They did an idependent test using;
AC Autotechnic
AEM Power
Comptech Shortram
DC Sports Direct Air Charger (DAC)
Injen Technologies
K&N Typhoon Intake System
Pro 1 Top Speed (cotton filter)
Pro 1 Top Speed (foam filter)
Weapon R Dragon Intake

The Weapon R system came out as the "Best Overall Performer".

Here's the link to the results:

And here's the link for the article; it describes what kind of car was used, how the tests were conducted and so on:

I had the K&N drop in before the Weapon R intake and I didn't notice a difference with the drop in filter.
