hey guys .... i cant seem to get rid of the orange brake light failure on my dash... ive checked all the lights and they all work... actually the sorta all work ... my camry is a 92 with the center piece .... the lights on the center peice dont work when the brake pedal isnt pressed but they do work when the brake is pressed....can some one help please
Have you changed any of the bulbs recently to cause this? If not, most likely, one of your bulb is about to fail and burnout. I've heard of this happening to other ppl, where old bulbs on the verge of crapping out trigger a false signal because of lower resistance. Worst case scenario would be a short somewhere in the circuit. If it really bothers you, you can replace all of your bulbs or just disconnect the on behind the dash
I've had this problem before, if you've changed your lights, you probably have the wrong light. make sure you bought the right light. My friend bought the wrong light and it messed up eevrything elsectronic in the car. Untill he bought the right light. If you mean your hand brake light, you most likely need to add brake fluid... thats what i did and it went away.

yeah what happened was i took off the center peice to red it out with the testors paint. when i went to open the trunk with the trunk lever it like flew open super fast cause it was so light and the bulbs flung against the trunk and broke .... i replaced the broken one which was the back up light (1156) and it now works fine.... i think something is loose because sometimes it works and the warning light goes off and then when i go to open the trunk it 'll come on again. what sould i doooooo!!!!
wonton, check your trunk wires on the left upper hand side in your trunk. I guarantee that a wire is cut right in half. Probably a green one. It's a very very common problem in Gen3 Camrys....
you da man silver streak.... you were right on there ... fuk how does a wire split in half like that?.... i woulda never found that if you didnt tell me .... i love this FORUM... toyota nation rules!!!!!!
hey guys sivler helped me and now all the lights work fine ... but the damm light still comes on as soon as i touch the brakes and then it stays on..... whats wrong now?
Hey i have a 90 camry le, and the orange light is on on my dash, and i replaced all of my lights, and im sure i put the right ones in. I just had some bodywork done, and they replaced some bulbs, so maybe they put the wrong ones in?

The bodywork people might of went and done something stupid and turned something off and forgot to replace it or something. In my college class, some retard disconnected his airbag to install a cd player for some reason, and it screwed all of his circuits up because he was too stupid to label all the wires etc... so it blew his speakers, cd player, and now for some reason his steering wheel makes a buzzing sound.
One thing I have been taught in Auto Tech is that most technicians will do a half assed job to get done quicker, and hope you don't know anything about cars so you won't know it was technician mistake.
One technician at some shop told my teachers daughter to, and I quote, "Hit the fuel tank with a 2x4 several times" to loosen something up to fix it. That's retarded.
But yeah, wrong builb could do it =P
watsup same thing happened to me and i had no idea wat was wrong so i noticed that i had colored bulbs in the lights so i think that might be the problem any way if thats not the prob i hope u can fix it
