get a more powerful alternator, doa quick search for well you guessed it, it was covered quite well a couple of months back
and if you mean by system, for every approx 400WRMS (im pushing 350wrms and have no need for a cap) of amp output have .5 farad of capacitor... thatll stop teh headlights dimming on bass hits will also clean up some signal noise, and in general, sound a bit more level.
of course if youre pushing that much RMS you probably already got a cap.
and how do you mean save your battery? your car battery is continuously under constant charge and discharge so meh.
