4th Generation Tires on 17 inch rims

I'm currently running 215/45/17 Yoko. ES100 on my 1998 Camry. I'm looking to get some new tires but not sure which way to go. 225/45/17 or 215/50/17 or stick with 215/45/17? I have the car lowered with Tokico shocks and Eibach pro-kit (1.2 inch drop).

In addition, any suggestion of which tire shop to goto in the GTA area would be appreciated. I only know of Tire Depot.

maybe go to a 225 or 235... more contact patch means better handling

Ya, more contact is good, especially with the supercharger, but I have 17 x 7 with an 38 offset. Will that limit my tire width?

OR you can roll your tires off the rim of a 17x7 wheel with 235 series tires

I guess the imp q is are you planning on rolling your fenders? I asked as 225 should work with your current setup, but for 235 you will have to roll your fenders.

I personally used 215/50/17, and thats the size i'd buy again!

I don't plan on rolling my fenders. I've been calling around and the 225/45/17 seem to be 10% less expensive than the 215/50/17.

Anyone have any clue why?

PLS don't get 205's unless you want bent rims! I've done 205's for a day, and i really appreciated 215, i've tried 225's but they were seemed (mentallY) tough to get em moving...(heavy??, its like i lost torque).

Even though I'm running with an s/c, there is no boost in first gear so I probably will have the same problem getting those 225's moving... right?

^ I'd say plan ahead for the future for when you DO get boost in first gear....

but seriously though....you won't actually see any difference between 215/50 and 225/45 in performance, tho the 225 will look better on the wheel
