3rd Generation Auto tranny question

Hi all.
One simple question about the ECT automatic transmission. What exactly happens when i trun ECT on? I heard it's supposed to help the car accelerate better..I almost floored it today with ECT off, went up to 5k and then upshifted. I stopped, turned ECT on and applied the same amount of throttle and felt no difference. Went up to 5k as before...Is it just my trasmission or are the effects of ECT so vague that they are not too easily noticable? I know when i trun o/d off, i actually feel a difference...didn't really seem to get anything with ECT. It's a basic 5S-FE engine with no mods yet. Thanks a lot guys!

p.s. on a totaly unrelated topic, where can i get a toyotanation decal to put on my car?

ECT waits longer before shifting....usually you'll come close to redlining it before it shifts. With ECT off, it will shift around 3k RPM, unless you're flooring it or something, but with ECT on it will wait until you're much higher in RPM's before shifting.
