White Smoke & Smell of BBQ

Ok today I was driving, reved my car to 6K etc. I got a camry 1993 XLE. Then i noticed white smoke for like 30 seconds, and bbq smell. Poped the hood, no white smoke there.

Today I had valve gasket replaced and oil pan gasket replaced from my local mechanic, i never had this problem before.

What do you think?

Thanks!

question, was it in drive? cuz if you were driving, as in pulling out of a driveway or something, and it just spontaneously revved to 6k, and you saw a lot of white smoke, then that was probably your tires haha, but other than that check all your gaskets, particulary those around the head and block. that white smoke is something hittin the exhaust manifold/pipe and burning, see where it sprayed on it at and trace back from there. good luck

Make sure you have oil. Don't be stupid like me and go through a hilly roadway where a coolant hose will split letting all the coolant out then letting the oil burn up along with the engine soon after. Happened to my '82 Celica just yesterday which brought me to a Camry today. could it just have been stray oil that got cooked?

Maybe you just ran over some litterbug’s trash; if a fast food bag made contact with you exhaust, or any other hot part of your undercarriage it could explain the smoke and the smell.
