random idle issues

Hi. This is my first time here so I hope I'm doing this correctly. I have a 1995 Camry with 95K miles on it, 4 cylinder, automatic. About 8 months ago, it started having this problem. If I was on a highway, and only on a highway, going 60-70 mph and then had to slow down to stop or turn, the car would start idling really low and die out. I would have to put it in nuetral and rev the engine to keep it from dying out. If it did die out, it would always start again.

No one can figure out why it is doing this. I've been to 3 mechanics including the dealership who adjusted the timing belt, but that didn't work either. It has a new fuel pump and fuel filter. It never did it with city driving until yesterday. Now, it's doing it a lot. Has anyone had anything like this and might know what is doing it? The biggest problem, of course with the diagnosis is that it NEVER does it when I take it in to the shop. It's so bizarre. Thanks for any help.

it was not raining. It was a fine Texas day. It doesn't die out too often, usually just idles low but that could be b/c I put it in neutral and rev the engine. I did a search after I posted this and found three things that could possibly be wrong based on people in the forum with similar type issues:

the egr valve
the engine coolant temperature sensor
the IAC valve

I'm not sure what any of those are but I know that none of those things have been checked/replaced since this started happening.
