i have tinted tail lights on my gen2 sedan. no pics though sorry (dont have a digital camera). due to legality reasons mine arnt black however (they used to be but i changed em). i redid them and only put on a light coat, just so that they werent as bright. u can still see that the lenses are orange/red (which throws off the cops). the stock colour was too bright for my liking, and looked silly with my almost black windows. the change in the intensity and colour of the light are negligible.

I painted over mine with dark red paint. I put down a TRD stencil first, so at night all you can see is the TRD glowing. I am pretty sure it's not street legal though. Can anybody tell me? Haven't gotten pulled over yet, but who knows, right? BTW, no pics sorry

I was also planning on doing this. I was first going to change the orange to red by using Testors transperant cady apple red paint, then going over that with what ever paint you use to tint the tails. This would give it a more complete look because it is all one color being tinted. What paint do you use to tint the tails? Get some pictures up somebody!

i picked up the testors transperant candy apple paint at a local hobby store. It comes in a spray can. Ont the cap, the number is 1605. All you have to do is mask off the part of the tails you dont want to paint with masking tape and platic wrap. then you apply tin coats onto the orange parts. 2 - 3 coats should be perfect. Then you let it dry and put it back on the car. Does anyone know what type of paint you need to tint the tails?

I know that they make a special spray paint to tint the tail lights, do a search, i had a big post about it before, becuase i wanted to do the same thing only with tinting film, which worked, but started to bubble becuase of the curves.

I'll check the hobby store and maybe a thin coat of a black transparent paint will do the job.
