2nd Generation Help with completely draining radiator fluid

hey, i finally decided to drain my raditor fluid because it was a brownish dark color...i drain the radiator like 5 times and even used one of those prestone radiator super cleaner...the water still turns brown everytime i fill...drive awhile and then drain...you guys have any ideas? is that normal? thank you

Did you or anyone ever place an additive in the radiator ? I could be that the additive still remains especially if it was the gasket seal additive.

i ahve no idea if anyone added an additive...it was already brownish black when i got the car...i keep thinking its oil but iono...i drained and fill numerous times...still turns brown when i drive for a couple hours den drain...im just going to take it to a shop and let them flush it...there is a hose connect to the bottom of the radiator the says oil hose...is oil really getting into the radiator?

pop the topside radiator hose off at the engine, shove a garden hose in its place, crank the water on and let the water run through the engine till the water comes out clean. If it never comes out clean, that means your radiatior is severly corroded and you should replace it.

The 2 small hoses that connect to the bottom of the radiator are for the tranny cooler (built into the radiator).

88 le thats the exact method i use...i unplug the drain **** while the engine is running with the heater on and i just let the hose run until i gets clear...but when i turn the hose off the remaining water turns back to the same brownish color...could it be that that oil hose?

Drain the radiator and look inside of it. Your looking for rust or corrosion.
