Hey guys I was just wandering what year model celicas the 3sge came in. I am going to need to replace my engine soon because it is pretty much worn out and would like a little more power with a nice drop in engine. I would like to go with the 5sfe but don't feel like going through the trouble of putting it in.
On which year camry? I've never heard of a "drop in" for a 3s-ge from a 5s-fe factory equipped camry.

Ummm.... the same mounts still work on the 5s-fe. The front mount attaches at the tranny, not the motor on the 3s-fe, and you can work it the same with the 5s-fe (or 1mz-fe, for that matter).
Don't forget that there is a bunch of custom wiring that you need to do. Its not worth the pain of the swap for 10-15 extra horspower, in my opinion...

But wouldn't it be easier to swap in the 3sge than the 5sfe? That is kinda what it seems like the consensus in the site is. Also don't I just have to swap in the ecu and wiring harness from the 3sge to make it run?

yes, a 3SGE will go into a gen2 easier than a 5SFE, and is a better engine too IMO.
I cant imagine how much rewiring it would take if you have the complete harness with fuse box, and ecu. there might be a few things, but i cant really think of anything.

Unless you have already done this yourself, don't belittle the task of an engine swap. The wiring is more than trivial, especially if you haven't done something like that in the past.

Only a couple people on this site have actually completed a motor swap, so beware of wrong information.
The harness for the 3s-ge won't just lay down in the right place and work. You will have to rewire many things (the engine wiring harness will remain the same, but you have to rewire the fuse box and the parts where the ECU goes to the body harness). If you are proficient with electronics and have correct wiring diagrams for both cars, it is very do-able... but not trivial.
