want to put aftermarket rims on,bottom of my struts look too close???helppp
HI fellas.i have a question.i have a 1992 camry le i was looking in my wheel wells the other day and i noticed that the bottom of the strut tower is quite close to the top of my tires.maybe a 3-4 inch space between them.i want to buy some aftermarket rims, possibly 17 inch, most likely 18 inch rims.i dont think its gonna clear that strut tower.looks like it will be right in the way.im sure some of yous have put aftermarket rims on your camrys.how did yous do it??will wheel spacers do the trick?or what do i have to do to make this work??please help me out with some expert advice, thanxxxx
It will clear... just make sure you get 7.5 wide wheels and stay between 35-43 offest (which most wheels are). You'll be okay.

are you sure???honestly by looking at it.it doesnt look like their is any way it will fit.has anyone done this change on their 92 camry??witout any modification??helpppp
Hey guy, I have 195-60-15s on my 88, their VERY close to the struts, I think 205s would rub the side, I took wheels off a 95 celica gt. What ever you do, dont put any spacers in between the rotor and the wheel, not good
well, the strut sort of moves with the wheels, so unless something breaks, or something, they arent going to touch. I have 17's on my 92, and they dont touch at all
TONS of gen 3's here have aftermarket rims with stock suspension. just do what CamryPunk said and u'll be fine, trust us...(unless of course ur suspension is already messed up but otherwise...)

THANX everyone,i dont mean to be a pain by any means, but i just want to be sure.hard to believe by the way it looks under there.but i do trust you guys 100%.thanx for the help and i really do appreciate it alot.
i currently have 17" Tenzo R Formula 10 (ET 38mm), and after i installed them it tends to wonder to the left. I had a shop to realign the car, and they said the offset from the aftermarket rims is different from the OEM, so right now the wheels are sitting slighty outward, so it is more sensitive to the road. is this true?
