Lightbulb Vortech for V6

Has ne one ever thought of making a vortech supercharger kit for the gen 3 v6 camrys/lexus. I think it would be better and more efficient than most other kits. a guy with a v6 eclipse got 380whp off this thing and i think that is pretty good i was just wondering wat yall think and maybe ripp could help us out.

Vortech is a brand I believe. Are you talking a cyntrifical charger? Because those are, for the most part, universal. You just have to custom make mounts and get a belt setup.

http://www.vortechsuperchargers.com/products/units/

Any one of those could be hooked up to your car with the right amount of custom work (new pulley to hold the extra belt, custom mounting brackets, and intercooler piping). It's pleanty do-able. I wouldn;t bother going to Ripp, that's a waste of time. Just go right to Vortech and talk to them about making a V6 Camry kit (preferably a 3vz kit ). They have been doing cyntrifical chargers forever.

The biggest problem is to find room in those 1mz/3vz engine bays to put a drive shaft and blower in there. You also have to line it up with the belts and such so if someone decides to do this, it's a crazier idea than a custom turbo set up.

Not with enough relocation Everything on that side of the engine can get moved with just some re-piping. It's just a matter of who has the time to do it.

But piping has nothing to do with it. You have to imagine having the drive shaft line up with rest of all the pulleys on one side have a completely straight drive shaft go to the opposite side and having enough room to put brackets up to sit properly and then have the blower on the oposite side.

Nah, I meant for moving stuff. Making new piping for the washer fluid, etc

In the end you'll need a custom crank pulley. Either that or figure a way to use a longer A/C belt or something.

It would be a real bitch, but could be done.

well i emailed vortech and they havent gotten bak to me yet on that. i hope they do though cause that would be pretty interesting to see how it works out. i wouldnt mind putting one on my car. its just like u said all the custom work. but it would prolly cost about the same as the turbo though i guessing. and how is the turbo projects goin along with SGP. cuase there site still doesnt work right?

^ Uhm, you have to imagine the cost to make a drive shaft and stuff... a turbo would be a better choice.

Yep, if it said that, they'll just laugh.

Unless you have a list of people ready to throw down the money, they won't do anything. They make massive money selling kits for Mustangs alone, they aren't too concerned with little business. You'd need at least 10+ other people wanting the same exact kit for the same engine.
