hi just recently bought an power antenna to replace my factory antenna. but it came with no instructions. has any one already done this and can you give me a guide or any help?
thank you
The gen 4's antenna is built into the rear windshield, not sure how you would do that, except that you would probably have to make a hole in your car somewhere to accomodate/mount the antennna.
Im not sure exactly how it works but im pretty sure that it is made to look like the lines for the rear defrost and it is on the very bottom of the window
i have the factory antenna out i just need to know where to attach the wires to. there is a red black and green. i think it needs a power source so the antenna can move up and out. please help
all gen4 have their antenna built into their rear windscreen. It is between the defront lines. If you noticed, there will be some different lines running pararrel to the defroster.. that is your antenna.
Now, go return the power antenna.
(unless you have a gen3 camry.
There are some Gen 4's that have a power antenna I think 97-98 now you don't see any, but there are. The model that the power antenn came out on was the CE. Now not all of the CE models have them but some do. Now the Antenn in the REAR winshield goes through out the whole rear window (top to Bottom). and as for the install, the antenna sholuld hook up just like the one you took out. If you can;'t figure it out buy your self a Haynes manual and see what wires are what. BTW I'm sorry you are one of the unluckys to get that Camry w/ the power antenna J/K.
I hope this helps.........Before you start making someone sound like a retard......do your homework first. The antennas are rare but they are out there.
if you have the antenna in the rear window, i would leave it. That antenna in the rear window is rated one of the best antennas, and gets some of the clearest reception. Several of my friends have power antennas and i always get more stations, and pick up better stereo signal than them (even tho i dont usually listen to the radio). My father's Expendition has a BIG powered antenna, and the truck sits up way higher than my car, and when i go visit my parents and have my car side by side with either of their cars, i get better reception with my rear window antenna, everytime.

Not to be an ass.....but did you happen to read any of the posts? He does not have the antenna in the rear window, he has a mast antenna. He wants to change out the mast antenna and put a new one in. I will agree with you about the reception, it is great
As for a link to get the job done. Go buy yourself a HAYNES manual and DIY. It should not be hard at all. as for tapping into a power source, you will want to tap it into the radio. The harness(if you have a after market radio) should have a power antenna lead that you can tap into. Hope this helps.
