4th Generation Weird Noise after hitting bumps...

Whats up guys,

I have a 1999 Camry LE with about 102,000 Miles ont it, but i seem to be having a problem with the suspension.... everytime i hit a bump i get like a clunking noise fromt he rear. Now its not really that loud, i did replace the sway bar bushins and also the rear right wheel baring because i was gettin a hum back there from my tire, now that wheel baring fixed the hum and the bushins helped with the clunking noise but i'm still gettin it from time to time. now i did notice that there was quite a bit of play as far as being able to wiggle the rear right wheel when its up on a jack. i went to a toyota dealer and they told me it could be the control arm assembly. now the price on that was $180 for both parts that i need and that was with a buddies discount.... I need your opinion guys as far as how to go about fixing this.

Thanks,
--Pookie

i guess u could call that a rear control arm, but i've seen that many times before on camrys. There are two bars at the rear of your camry one of which has an adjusting sleave to set the rear toe, chances are the bushing at the end of that bar is worn out. You should go ahead and replace that bar assembly because trying to press a new bushing in it is impossible without a hydraulic press. That should take care of your thudd. also check your strut mounts if u have any more thumping after this repair.
